Nova Hotels 2023/2024 Handbook

Welcome to the official staff handbook for Nova Hotels X for the years 2024 to 2025.
This handbook will contain lots of information, so please ensure that you read it all carefully before playing our game as a staff member!

Rank Information

Below is the information for each rank “category” (i.e. LR, MR, HR, SHR, etc.)
Simply click the arrow (>) next to the rank category to view information about the roles classed within that category.

Low Ranks

Low Ranks do not have commands permissions, unless bought.
Low Ranks can rank up by either:

  • obtaining the required amount of points
  • or attending a training

LR’s can attend trainings until they have the “Senior Team Member” role. At this point, they must either obtain 1800 points or be promoted by the human resource department or during the monthly reforms.

Junior Team Member The second low rank. JTM’s do not require grammar, but are also expected to remain professional. LR’s role is to check-in customers, provide housekeeping and serve in the restauraunt. None 100
Team Member This is the middle low rank. TM’s are required to use grammar, and can be punished for not doing so. LR’s role is to check-in customers, provide housekeeping and serve in the restauraunt. None 350
Senior Team Member Final low rank. STM’s are still expected to carry out usual LR duties. This rank is only achievable through attending a training as a None N/A
Middle Ranks

By default, Middle Ranks have moderator commands.
Middle Ranks can also have Administrator commands, provided that they have bought them.
Middle Rank users can rank up by:

  • obtaining the required number of points
  • getting recognised by the human resource department
  • monthly reforms.

MR’s are able, and expected, to assist in trainings and interviews hosted by HR’s.
MRs are expected to join shifts, they may get promoted! :tada:

Supervision Team Supervision Team staff members are expected to use grammar, like all other MR’s. They are also expected to attend and assist in trainings and interviews utilising the guides provided by Nova Hotels. Moderator 3250
Service Manager Service Managers are expected to use grammar, like all other MR’s. They are also expected to attend and assist in trainings and interviews utilising the guides provided by Nova Hotels. Moderator 5500
Shift Leader Shift Leaders are expected to use grammar, like all other MR’s. They are also expected to attend and assist in trainings and interviews utilising the guides provided by Nova Hotels. This is the final MR rank before HRs. Moderator 9500
High Ranks

By default, High Ranks have Administrator commands.
High ranks can also have Super Admin commands, provided that they have the “executive pack”.
High Rank users can rank up by:

  • obtaining the required number of points
  • getting recognised by the human resource department
  • monthly reforms.

HR’s are able, and expected, to host and assist in trainings and interviews.
HRS are expected to join shifts, they may get promoted! :tada:

Assistant Manager The first HR rank. Like all staff who are MR+, assistant managers are expected to utilise correct grammar within the hotel. Staff are usually able to join departments from this rank onwards. HRs are expected to host, co-host and assist within trainings and interviews. Administrator 25,000
General Manager The final HR rank. Like all staff who are MR+, general managers are expected to utilise correct grammar within the hotel. HRs are expected to host, co-host and assist within trainings and interviews. Users with this role are permitted to demote, and log, LR demotions for valid reasons. Administrator 75,000
Super High Ranks

By default, Super High Ranks have Super Admin commands.
Super High Rank users can rank up by:

  • getting recognised by the human resource department
  • monthly reforms.

SHR’s are able, and expected, to host shifts and ensure order within the hotel, training centre and interview centre.

Executive Assistant This role is a select few members of dedicated, trusted staff who are responsible for maintaining the hotel and hosting shifts. Super Admin
Executive Team This role is a select few members of dedicated, trusted staff who are responsible for maintaining the hotel and hosting shifts. Super Admin
Board of Administration This role is for a handful of members, usually only the Head of the Human Resources department, who are trusted to maintain the SHR team and the hotel. Super Admin

Staff Rules & Guidelines

Grammar

All staff members from the roles of Team Member to Executive Team are required to utilise proper grammar while active in the hotel, training centre or interview centre.*

*In the case of interviews or trainings, if there are no LRs present then members are permitted to not use grammar.

This rule affects chats, private messages (except private messages supplied by the admin system), and commands.
Abbreviations are permitted if you are not abbreviating too many words within the sentence, and still maintaining proper grammar throughout the sentence.
Abbreviations used to refrain from swearing (e.g. LMAO, LMFAO, etc) are not permitted.

Professionalism

All staff members, LR to SHR, are expected to remain fully professional in front of guests and LRs (MR+).
You expected to remain respectful to everyone. This means refraining from trolling, name calling, or general rudeness.
Any tools that you are given access to (e.g. sticks) are expected to be used for their purpose only, and not to mess around with your friends.

Staff are not permitted to break Roblox’s Terms of Services, doing so will result in a termination.

Activity

Staff who are Middle Rank or above are expected to remain active in the hotel throughout the month. Active staff members may be promoted during reforms, while inactive ones will be demoted.

Commands

Some commands are limited to maintain professionalism and order within the hotel.

Punishing users

When punishing users, you should be using proper grammar.
For warning a user, use the following template:

You are also encouraged to add their username, to make it easier to track.

You may warn a user for:

  • disrespecting another user
  • trolling
  • spamming

For jailing a user, use the following template:
jail <Reason(s)>

You may jail users for:

  • reaching 3 warnings
  • being majorly disrespectful to others
  • exploiting
  • breaking ToS
  • mass spamming

Promotions, demotions & suspensions

Users may be promoted, demoted, or suspended during their time at Nova Hotels.
Anyone who is Team Member or below may only be demoted.

Promotions

Senior Team Members and above are only promoted through:

  • points
  • human resources department
  • reforms
  • getting noticed by leadership

Below is the cooldown for promotions within Nova Hotels.

Demotions

Demotions are distributed to staff members for the following reasons:

  • lack of grammar
  • unprofessionalism
  • causing drama
  • hinting
  • rudeness/disrespect
  • misrepresenting nova hotels on the Roblox platform
  • admin abuse

Re-ranking is only permitted for those who lacked grammar, up to a certain number of times.
If you’re unsure whether you’re able to re-rank, ask a human resource department member within our Discord server.

Suspensions are generally issues in conjunction with demotions.

Inactivity Notices

If you need to inactive within Nova Hotels for a period between 5 days and 1 month, then you are able to file an inactivity notice (provided you are MR+.)

Information on how to file an IN

You can file an inactive notice by using the temporary /request-inactivity command in our Discord server and filling out the relevant information.

Sessions

Within Nova Hotels, we have 3 types of “sessions”:

  • trainings
  • interviews
  • shifts

Below outline the ranks, descriptions and maximum amount of staff members per rank.
For trainings and interviews: High Ranks are permitted to be host/co-host, and SHRs are permitted to be “overseers”. MRs are only permitted to be trainers/interviewers.
However, for shifts: Only SHRs may be host/co-host or overseer. HRs and MRs not able to be host/co-host or overseer.

Trainings

Host The host is responsible for organising, shouting and ensuring proper running of the training. 1
Co-host The co-host is expected to deputise for the host and is also expected to ensure proper running of the training. 1
Trainers Trainers are expected to train LRs inline with the guides provided by Nova Hotels. They are expected to abide by the host’s and co-host’s commands. No Maximum
Interviews
Rank Session Role Maximum per session
Overseer Oversees the whole interview, ensuring host, co-host and interviewers are doing their jobs correctly. No Maximum
Host The host is responsible for organising, shouting and ensuring proper running of the interviews. 1
Co-host The co-host is expected to deputise for the host and is also expected to ensure proper running of the interviews. 1
Trainers Interviewers are expected to interview guests inline with the guides provided by Nova Hotels. They are expected to abide by the host’s and co-host’s commands. No Maximum
Shifts
Rank Session Role Maximum per session
Overseer Oversees the shift, available to Board of Administration above only. No Maximum
Host The host is responsible for organising, shouting, running and ensuring proper running of the shift. 1
Attendees Attendees are expected to participate in games and follow the timeline provided by the host. No Maximum

Departments

Nova Hotels currently has 6 departments. Below will outline the head, deputy head and role of these departments.

Human Resources

Head: vhituals (Tyler)
Deputy Head: Vacant

The Human Resources department is responsible for the staff within Nova Hotels. They issue promotions, demotions, suspensions and terminations to users for appropriate reasons.
Users must generally be General Manager or above to apply.

Moderation

Head: 4eavh (Leah)
Deputy Head: Vacant

The Moderation department is Discord only. They are responsible for moderating the Discord server for Nova Hotels.
All users are able to apply for this rank, staff or not.

Communications

Deputy Heads: xmiI_ey (Miley) & katarinaa305a (Kat)

The communications department comprises of both Support and Rewards. Members of this department manage both Support for Nova Hotels and the Nova Rewards Program.
Users must generally be Service Manager or above to apply.

Public Relations

Head: Vacant
Deputy Head: DoctorStrange1368 (Kyle)

The Public Relations department is responsible for alliances within Nova Hotels. They manage our relationship with our alliances and other groups.
Users must generally be Service Manager or above to apply.
